Community Relations
The Trenton Police Department holds a fundamental goal of providing a safe community. Establishing a down to earth community relations program, like Coffee with a Cop, help maintain trust, reinforce transparency, and is an opportunity for positive encounters between Police Officers and citizens. This program is designed for police to meet formally, yet informally, with citizens to listen to their concerns, discuss duties as a Police Officer, and develop and reaffirm the community's trust in law enforcement. The program is the perfect platform for facilitating and encouraging Office-Citizen interactions.
-
AGENDA FREE- No speeches or specific topics. Just informal conversations about what matters to community residents.
-
NO BARRIERS- Eliminate obstacles such as radios, patrol cars, and cell phones for a short period of time to be more approachable and have relaxed conversations with community members.
-
PROBLEM SOLVING- Coffee with a Cop events are opportunities to build relationships in order to better problem solve with the citizens officers serve.
We encourage any business or organization wishing to host "Coffee with a Cop" to contact the Trenton Police Department by calling (660) 359-5557 or by emailing Chief Ross at wrecks99@trentonmo.com.
