| Trenton's city owned electric utility
has served Trenton since 1937, when the electric plant was built. Originally housing three
diesel fuel powered generators, it now houses six and can generate 5,000 kw per hour.
Currently, we serve 3,200 customers, with a generating capacity of 19.0 MW. System voltage
is 69kv, 13.2kv, and 4.16 kv. Along with our generating capacity, we are also under
contract for 10 MW of firm power from Sikeston Power Station in Sikeston, Missouri. South Sub
Four Catepillar generators are located at the south sub. These can generate approximately
7,300 kw per hour. With the approval of the City Council, there will be three more units
added to the south sub.
Peaking Plant / North Sub
Built in 1974, with another unit added in 1975, the peaking plant can generate
approximately 13,750kw per hour.
Employees
Currently there are three employees at our electric plant (pictured at
right): Curtis Provance, Operator; Robert Bennett, Supervisor; and Steve Sims, Maintenance
Manager.
Service Personnel
Our meter readers and service personnel are pictured in the
photo to the right. They are (left to right): Henrietta Peacock, meter reader; Jim
Whitley, service man; and Robert Kincade, meter reader. The meter readers are responsible
of reading all electric and water meters on a monthly basis. They also report any problems
encountered with the meters. Our service personnel is responsible for electric and water
locates, changing out electric and water meters, and connects and disconnects.

The Electric Linemen
are responsible for all the electric lines within the City limits. They are also
responsible for the electric system and handle all service maintenance. These employees
