| ECONOMIC PROFILE Trenton is affected by several diverse economic
factors, yet agriculture has the biggest impact. According to the 2000 census, Grundy
County had 3,462 residents living outside of incorporated areas; 1,400 of these people are
farmers with 776 farms in the county.
Service employment is by far the largest
non-farm employer with 59 percent employed in the service field. Government jobs account
for 20 percent of our work force. Manufacturing is third, employing 14 percent. |
